Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about therapy with me, including insurance, cancellation policy, and how this all works.
I know how vulnerable it is to ask for help with the heaviest things that you carry. Reaching out takes a lot of courage and can feel a little scary! I will respond to every inquiry; I know how it feels to reach out for help. None of us is meant to struggle alone.

Frequently Asked Questions about Counseling & Therapy Services
-
Intake sessions are 60 minutes, while ongoing sessions are 50 minutes. All sessions are $130.
Sessions take place either in person or virtually, or perhaps a hybrid of both.
-
Absolutely! I hold a few spots for clients who could use some flexibility around cost. Sliding scale means we work together to set a rate that reflects your current financial situation.
My reduced-rate sessions are limited, but if I’m full, I can send you referrals to other trusted therapists who offer low-cost options.
-
I accept cash, check, and card. My online system accepts most credit/debit cards, including HSA and FSA cards that function like a regular card.

I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means I’m not in-network with any insurance companies. I’ve chosen this model so I can offer therapy that is guided by your needs and not by insurance limitations, required diagnoses, or session caps. It also allows me to protect your privacy and tailor care in a way that feels supportive and individualized.
That said, if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Many clients find this process simple to navigate.
If you’d like to submit for reimbursement, I can provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can send to your insurance company. Sessions are paid in full at the time of your appointment.
-
I require at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Without that notice, the full session fee of $130 will be charged. No-shows are also charged the full fee.
While this is the policy, life happens! Illness and other circumstances are often taken into consideration. I am not a monster :)

Some people come to therapy for a few months to work toward specific goals, while others choose to stay longer as part of their ongoing growth and support.
My hope is to walk alongside you for as long as therapy feels helpful. When you start to feel more settled and confident in the progress you’ve made, we’ll check in together about whether it feels like the right time to pause or close. That decision is always a shared one, led by you.
It’s also completely normal to take breaks and come back when life shifts or new stressors arise. I love hearing from past clients whether you’re reaching out to restart or just want to share how you’re doing.

Sometimes! I love working with couples and relational systems when it’s within my scope of practice. This means I am very specific about the needs of the couples I see. My work with couples looks like support through fertility challenges, pregnancy, and adjusting to new parenthood. Sometimes trauma work within a couple or family system may be appropriate.
If you are looking for marriage or relationship counseling, please feel free to reach out! If I am not the right fit for you, I can connect you with referrals I trust.

Let’s chat on the phone and find out! I offer all clients a free 15-minute phone consultation to get a feel for what my process is like and to ask me any questions. We can chat about what you’re looking for and how I may be able to help.
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or go to your nearest hospital.
